Why measure eighth-graders’ technology literacy?
- No Child Left Behind (NCLB) states that
by 2013 schools will ensure that students
are technologically literate
by the end of eighth grade.
- The U.S. Department of Education requires states to report annually the percentage of eighth-graders who achieve technology literacy by the end of the school year.
- The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) began collecting eighth-grade technology literacy data from school districts in fall 2008.
